The Coast of Wales Kayaking Challenge

This is one challenge that will inspire you and one which demands commitment and focus from those who men who are taking the challenge.

The team taking on this enormous task include:

16 people using 8 double kayaks; 2 sea support vessels, 4 land vehicles and 10 support staff, who will take on the challenging waters of Wales
300 Miles of West Wales Coastline
1,350 hrs of paddling power
450Kgs of Carbohydrates
9 days of exhausting effort

All in aid of charity, this team of dedicated people are going to be kayaking from the Menai Straits (North Wales) to Langland (Swansea) in just nine days in what has been called the ‘Menai to Mumbles Madness’!

The itinerary is as follows; Start Date : May 18th 2013 from National Watersport Centre, Plas Menai

  • 18th May - Day 1: Leave Plas Menai 15:00 arrive at Morfa Mefyn 21:00
  • 19th May - Day 2: Leave Morfa Melin 06:00 arrive at Pwllelli 13:30
  • 20th May - Day 3: Leave Pwllelli 06:30 arrive at Tywyn 14:30
  • 21st May - Day 4: Leave Tywyn 07:30 arrive at New Quay 15:30
  • 22nd May - Day 5: Leave New Quay 08:30 arrive at Fishguard 16:30
  • 23rd May - Day 6: Leave Fishguard 09:30 arrive at St. Davids 17:30
  • 24th May - Day 7: Leave St. Davids 10:30 arrive at Tenby 18:30
  • 25th May - Day 8: Leave Tenby 11:30 arrive at Broughton Bay 19:30
  • 26th May - Day 9: Leave Broughton Bay 12:00 arrive at Langland 18:00
