Corruption trial: Missing evidence found

Friday, January 27th 2012 00:00

Documents found with South Wales Police

Missing evidence that led to the collapse of a police corruption trial at Swansea Crown Court has now been found.

Eight officers and two civilians were cleared by the judge of perverting the course of justice last year.

They were on trial following the wrongful conviction of three men for murdering Lynette White in Cardiff in 1988.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has now discovered documents, thought to have been shredded, are still with South Wales Police.
