Swans Thrash QPR In 5 Star Performance

Sunday, August 19th 2012 01:00

Michu bagged a brace on his debut

Swansea City secured an historic victory over QPR on the opening day.

Swansea City opened their second season in the Premier League inflicting a 5-0 thrashing over QPR.

Scott Sinclair, Nathan Dyer and new Spanish signing Michu all found the net at Loftus Road, usually a bogey ground for the Swans.

The 26-year-old brought for just £2 million by new manager Michael Laudrup secured his debut goal in the 8th minute from 25-yards following a howler by Rangers keeper Rob Green.

The Spaniard doubled the lead in the second half, curling in a shot on 53 minutes.

Ten minutes later they were 3-0 up, winger Nathan Dyer firing home before doubling his tally from a pin-point pass from the returning Dutchman Kemy Agustien.

Want away winger Scott Sinclair silenced the Swans fans that booed him when he came on as a sub, with the fifth goal of the afternoon on 81 minutes.

New boss Michael Laudrup described it as the ideal start to the new Premier League campaign and said he was pleased with the way his team have gelled so quickly.
