Average Speed cameras coming to South Wales

There are going to be average speed cameras along sections of a Gower road, due to the fact there have been nine deaths since the year 2000.

Despite the fact these are usually found on motorways and dual carriageways, this is being deemed Swansea's first safe zone.

The average speed cameras will cover two sections of the B4295 (commonly known as the North Gower Road.)

The authorities are aiming to have the system up and running before Christmas however rumour has it that they'll be switched on a lot sooner. There will be a period of grace where those caught travelling too fast are issued with letters rather than fines.

We're not sure how long the period of grace will last, however after that motorists will have to pay the penalty for breaking the law.
