Carers Week with Hengoed Care

Improving quality of life for residents is fundamental to Hengoed Care’s Vision. They are proud to always have fantastic events, projects and parties that their residents, families and staff can get involved with.

Always thinking out of the box Hengoed Care finds plenty of ways to keep residents active and stimulated. For example, the home has strong links with local schools and nurseries, with the residents helping children with their reading and learning. Residents can also enjoy craft sessions, knitting clubs, baking, gardening working out in the on-site gym, and much more. More recently an outdoor animal haven has been added to their extensive grounds which is home to rescued ponies, sheep a bird aviary and bunnies for the residents and families to enjoy, interacting with in the outdoors creating magical moments.

Hengoed Court and Hengoed Park both family run care homes have always been aware of the importance of outdoor activities for the older generation and the new developments in the grounds make these easier and more interesting than ever. For those who are too frail to go outside, the grounds provide wonderful views from the windows: counting birds and foxes has become a favourite pastime for some.

“In a time when community seems to be breaking down our aim is to create a community here for our residents, and to knit that in with the local community and our residents’ families”.

Hengoed Care is a family run care home and was established with one thing in mind, to create a home in which Mr Davies and his family would be proud of and happy to have their own family members looked after. Whilst they can never replace your own home they aim to provide the next best thing. Management and staff are there to assist your needs 24 hours a day and are always available to discuss any aspect of care and service with you. They are a well established home which boasts award-winning gardens, extensive scenic views overlooking Crymlyn Burrows Nature Reserve and Swansea Bay, which provides a tranquil and relaxing environment. We are very proud of the facilities here at Hengoed Care for both residents, their families and our staff to enjoy
