Some Like it Hot
We will soon be basking in 30C heat as a wave of hot air sweeps in from Europe - and it'll last until July.
Sweltering temperatures are set to arrive by the end of this week and will keep the country baking until the end of the month.
It could get so toasty that the record of the hottest day of the year so far could be smashed.
Warm air from the Azores is barrelling in after a brief cold front to send the mercury soaring by Friday.
Met Office spokesman Graham Madge said: "We are looking at seeing the highest temperatures of the year so far.
"I think that everybody here is optimistic that we will see that.
"We are reasonably confident that the good conditions will continue into next week.
"From Sunday we are going to get an injection of air coming in from central Europe and that combined with the home grown warmth mean we could see temperatures getting above 29.1C, we may see a 30C.
"There will be sunny conditions across the UK for the foreseeable future."
James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, told the Daily Star: "Our high confidence projections continue to show a massive build of high pressure across our shores from later this week onwards.
“This is likely to bathe the country in another prolonged period of very hot weather of potentially epic proportions during the final third of June and into July.
“It is now becoming plausible that we could see temperatures approaching or exceeding the 30C (86F) mark across many parts of the country at times within this period."
