Overall reported crime across all crime categories fell by 1% with the largest reductions seen in reporting of robberies, burglary to dwellings and theft from motor vehicles.

While reports of offences fell detection rates remained stable with 41% of all offences being detected and the offender being held accountable.

The detection rate for violence with injury in Swansea City Centre was higher at 50% demonstrating a clear focus and determination on bringing those who commit violent crime in the city centre to justice.

Inspector Thomas said "It is always reassuring to see crime falling and detection rates remain the same, it is clear the criminal element in Swansea City are not being left alone.

"These statistics, although, positive, are not everything and my biggest challenge is ensuring those who live work and visit the city centre are made to feel safe”
