Weather warnings for high winds and rain in our area still in place
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Warning for wind across the region, and gusts of 64 miles an hour have been recorded at Mumbles Head.
South Wales Police are urging drivers to take care on the roads and our traffic teams are reporting accidents on the M4 this morning: Eastbound between Junction 35 and 34, and another accident between Junction 44 at Llansamlet and Junction 45 (Ynysforgan).
Some bridges including the Cleddau Bridge in Pembrokeshire are closed due to high winds.
Events across the UK have been cancelled and parts of the National Eisteddfod have been closed early due to the conditions.
More than 700 homes have been without power in parts of Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Rhondda Cynon Taff.
Please continue to take care out there.— South Wales Police (@swpolice) August 10, 2019
