Fairyhill Opens Modern New extension

Hotel aims business at wedding market

Gower hotel Fairyhill has opened its new extension to the grade 2 listed Georgian House.

Its undergone a million-pound investment to transform it into a dedicated wedding and special event venue.

The Gower property was acquired by Oldwalls in November 2018 and forms part of the Oldwalls Collection of wedding venues and holiday cottages.

Part of the refurbishment project included a modern extension to the west wing of the old house which will create a function space designed to host events.

The expansion aims to support the push to attract more visitors into Wales.

Manager Director, Andrew Hole said: "We believe that the secret to Oldwalls' success is dedicating ourselves to special events and weddings and we are so excited to inject this award-winning formula into Fairyhill.

"In addition to adding the extension, we've been hard at work restoring the 24-acre listed grounds and features of the original property to ensure Fairyhill continues to be marvelled at for centuries to come."

Mr Hole added: "The changes injected vital funds into the local economy as we used Welsh suppliers for the million-pound refurbishment project wherever possible. We can't wait to offer wedding and event visitors the opportunity to revel and enjoy the magic of Fairyhill".

Fairyhill has hosted the wedding of Hollywood legend Paul Newman's son as well as former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Joan Collins and Katherine Jenkins.
