Heartbreak over 24-year-old's death

The victim of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at around 7.40pm on Tuesday 21st February has been named as Thomas 'Tom' Cody from Cilfynydd, Pontypridd.

Tom, 24, died when the car he was a passenger in was in a single vehicle collision on the A4119, Groesfaen a short distance from the junction with Tynant Road.

Tom's family has paid tribute to him, saying: "Our loving kind caring son, brother, grandson, uncle and nephew cruelly taken away from us far too soon. As a family we are heartbroken and devastated."

South Wales Police is appealing for any witnesses to the collision or for any information relating to the use of the car, a purple Citroen Picasso, prior to the collision.
