Fans' disappointment over Potter move reports

Graham Potter being appointed Manager of Swansea City

The Swansea City Manager is reportedly set to fill Hughton's shoes at Brighton

Swans fans are reacting to news Manager Graham Potter is reportedly set to leave the club for Premiership side Brighton.

Graham Potter will hold talks with Brighton over their vacant managerial position after the Seagulls agreed to pay the release clause in his Swansea contract.

Swansea City commentator and pundit for Swansea Sound, Anthony O'Connell said:

"At the moment Brighton have agreed to pay it so  it means they now have permission to talk to Graham and if Graham wants to go there then the deal, as far as Swansea City is concerned, is done."

The 43-year-old was offered a new contract by the Swans in an attempt to ward off Brighton's interest, but has since told the club he's keen for a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

Fans have been venting their disappointment on social media, with some expressing sympathy for the challenges Potter had faced over the past year.

Brighton technical director Dan Ashworth, who left the FA to join the club, is thought to have been watching Potter’s Swansea in recent months, impressed with the style of play he has implemented at the Liberty Stadium.
