Killing treated as murder-suicide

A businessman was stabbed more than 50 times by his girflriend before she killed herself at her home in a Llanelli street.

An inquest today heard Jessena Sheridan, 46, and Gary Williams, 58, were found dead inside the house in the double tragedy being treated as murder-suicide.

Mr Williams was stabbed in the neck, stomach and chest - and found dead in the bedroom just feet away from his girlfriend's body.

Police confirmed they are treating the death of Mr Williams as murder - and Miss Sheridan's as "non-suspicious."

The inquest heard both were found dead in the bedroom at the house in Lakefield Place, Llanelli on December 29.

The body of Jessica Wendy Ann Sheridan was also found in the bedroom.

A inquest hearing in Haverfordwest was told Ms Sheridan died from "self-inflicted wounds".

Dyfed-Powys Police is not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

The force also said there would be no criminal charges.

Trainee coroner's officer, Maggie Julian, told the hearing Mr Williams, from Gowerton in Swansea, was found with multiple injuries.

A provisional report on his death indicated he died from stab wounds to the neck, chest and stomach.

The inquest into both deaths was adjourned by Coroner Mark Layton until May.

Police said no-one will be prosecuted for either death. Mr Williams was from Gowerton near Swansea.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "The police investigation will not result in any criminal prosecution. The matter has been referred to HM Coroner.

"The families wish to be given privacy to grieve at this time."
