Ospreys Defend Territory For Clash

Ospreys v Scarlets Derby Easter Saturday

As the Ospreys prepare to face their local rivals the Scarlets at the end of the month, a number of players have been spotted defending their territory at Loughor Bridge, the boundary between Ospreylia and Scarlets territory.

Jeff Hassler, Josh Matavesi and Dan Evans waved the Ospreys flag proudly ahead of the derby clash, taking place on Easter Saturday, 26th March, kick off 3pm.

As the players returned to training, Ospreys mascot Ozzie the Osprey ventured one step further as he crossed the bridge and eagle-eyed motorists spotted him spying on Parc Y Scalets' stadium as he staked his claim and raised the Ospreys flag in pride of place in front of the stadium.

Osprey Josh Matavesi commented:  "Ospreys V Scarlets is always a great match and I am personally looking forward to it.

"This will be the first game back at the Liberty following the Six Nations and we're hoping for a strong crowd behind us.

"Everyone knows what a difference a packed-out stadium can make to the home side, so we're certainly hoping we have a full house to cheer us on."

With both teams pushing for qualification for the European Rugby Champions Cup, it's set to be an intense match between the two regions.

Interest in the match is sky high and the highest Liberty Stadium crowd of the season is anticipated.
