Decorative bronze tiles fixed into the ground in a car park at the rear of Station Road have been taken by thieves.
Neath Port Talbot Council has condemned thieves who have made off with decorative bronze tiles contained in an open air artwork.
They were ripped from a “swirl” art work containing words which made up a poem.
South Wales Police are investigating the disappearance of the tiles which took place between 7.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday, July 20 th.
A Neath Port Talbot Council spokesman said: “Our staff members are currently reviewing not only our CCTV cameras in the area but are also asking local businesses with CCTV to look attheir footage to see if the perpetrators can be identified.
“This happened in a public car park so we are also asking people if they may have dashcam footage going back to last Saturday or any other information which may assist. This is a despicable crime which has deprived the town of a piece of decorative artwork."
