A Llanelli man says he will camp outside hospital to raise awareness
A Llanelli man's planning to protest outside Prince Phillip Hospital later today (Tuesday 6th March) after the out-of-hours GP service closed on Sunday because of a shortage of doctors.
Adrian Morgans, from Llwynhendy, plans to camp outside the hospital to raise awareness of the issue.
We spoke to his friend Shaun Greaney who told us the closure has a huge affect on patients.
"It's meaning people are having to travel all the way to Carmarthen or possibly even Neath Port Talbot hospital which is a long way for vulnerable people in the night and some of them obviously do not have transport.
"It's unacceptable for a town the size of Llanelli.
A statement from Hywel Dda University Healthboard was issued on Sunday.
The healthboard took to Twitter later in the day to say there had also been an issue with it's 111 non-emergency phone line.
