Shelter Cymru Marks 35 Years

Shelter Cymru wants anyone who has used the service since 1981 to share their memories as they commemorate three and half decades.

This year Shelter Cymru is marking 35 years of preventing homelessness in Wales.

Shelter Cymru is Wales' leading people and homes charity and we will be reflecting on the work of the charity since its inception in 1981.

During this time Shelter Cymru has helped around half a million people fight for their rights, get back on their feet, and find and keep a new home.

It also tackles the root causes of bad housing by campaigning for new laws, policies and solutions.

Over the years, clients have praised the services of Shelter Cymru, "You have always been our light at the end of the dark tunnels we found ourselves in on more than one occasion"

"They told me my rights which I didn't have a clue about.  They made me feel confident and less judged"

"I was in that much of a mess, you see, and you helped me with something out of my control"

"To reflect further on our 35 years work in Welsh communities, we're currently urging more people who have used our services in the past to share their stories with us."
