UK Government to explain why around 38 areas are still breaking EU law

Swansea's high air pollution levels are being questioned by officials in Brussels.

The EU Commission has today summoned the UK Government to explain why around 38 areas are still breaking EU law - years after the deadline for lowering emissions.

Last year we revealed how Swansea Friends of the Earth found nine out of ten sites surveyed in the city  - some of them outside schools, are breaking legal limits for toxic nitrogen dioxide.
