General Election 2019: Swansea Climate Hustings!

Climate husting organisers Greg Wilkinson, Dr Sue Lyle and Julian Woodell

The climate emergency has dominated the headlines during 2019.

Greta Thunberg's school strike put the spotlight on the issue - capturing the imagination of millions across the world.

With Extinction Rebellion bringing cities across the UK - including Cardiff, to a halt during the summer. The group is calling for the UK Government to halt biodiversity loss and reduces greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.

Campaigners are now keen to see what all the political parties will pledge as part of their election manifesto.

On Monday six parliamentary candidates for the Swansea West, East and Gower seats will be put on the spot at the National Waterfront Museum.

They will be given the opportunity to reveal their political parties stance on the matter - as well as, what they would do locally - should they be elected.

We spoke to one of the event organisers, Dr Sue Lyle from Extinction Rebellion in Swansea - LISTEN to full interview here:
