Trapped Bulldog Roxy in 'Such a Pickle'!

Dog trapped for three hours after falling down gap

A Swansea bulldog has been rescued from a tight squeeze by the RSPCA – after she got stuck between a rock and a hard place!

The animal welfare charity was contacted after the adventurous dog got trapped in a back garden, between a wall and fence, on Heol Cleddau in Waunarlwydd.

An RSPCA animal collection officer said Roxy – the bulldog – seemed “remarkably pleased with herself to have got into such a pickle!”

Footage of the rescue was captured by action camera, as two RSPCA officers – inspector Julie Fadden and ACO Ellie West - were able to lift her out, run precautionary welfare checks and return Roxy to her delighted owners.

Roxy spent approximately three hours trapped - but, fortunately, RSPCA officers were able to reach the Waunarlwydd property and free Roxy within 40 minutes of receiving the call.

Ellie said: “Poor Roxy was unable to move free – but she was very calm, and seemed remarkably pleased with herself to have got into such a pickle!

“Thankfully, we were quickly able to get to her, securely pull her from the tight gap, and return her to her very relieved owners.

“It was very awkward to free her, so we needed two officers – but, thankfully, Roxy was absolutely fine. We love nothing more than a happy ending and RSPCA Cymru is just happy we were able to help this dog in her hour of need.”
