Travel Advice As Wales Kick Off Six Nations Campaign

It's Italy up first at the Principality Stadium this afternoon.

Rugby fans are being urged to plan their journey as Wales play their first game of the Six Nations.

We're up against Italy at the Principality Stadium in Wayne Pivac's first game in charge of the national side.

Kick off is at 2:15pm.

GWR will provide more than 25,000 seats for passengers travelling to and from today's game.

More than 12,000 seats will be available arriving into Cardiff between 10 this morning and quarter to two.

Rugby fans are advised to allow time to enter the ground, and to be aware that services immediately before and after the game WILL be busy.

GWR Performance Director Barry Milsom said: "With bigger, more spacious Intercity Express Trains in service we are able to provide many more seats for customers. But Cardiff Station itself can only accommodate so many people at a time, and a queuing system is needed to allow customers to board trains safely. Those coming from further afield are also reminded to check the time of their last train home."
