Police Launch Murder Probe

A man found injured in Ely, Cardiff, has died.

Two men, aged 58 and 37, remain in custody at Cardiff Bay Police Station.

The man was treated in Glyndwr Road by paramedics and doctors from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Welsh Air Ambulance following a report of stabbing at 11.31am. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he died at the scene.

A number of scenes are currently being held in the Ely area of Cardiff, and are being forensically examined by crime scene investigators.

Superintendent Andy Valentine, head of operational policing in Cardiff, said: “I would like to reassure the public that detectives will be working into the evening to establish the circumstances leading to today’s incident.

“Specifically trained officers will be supporting family members at this difficult time and extra patrols continue to reassure the public.”
