Vote on Wales smack ban in Assembly

Members to vote on ending defence of "reasonable punishment"

Assembly Members are due to vote later on a bill which would make smacking children illegal in Wales.

Today could be one of the final steps in making the  "Ending the Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Bill" law.

The Senedd is likely to vote for the bill which will change the law to end the legal defence of "reasonable punishment".

If passed, the final step is for the bill to receive Royal Assent from the Queen.
