Wales Women hope to keep up winning Euro qualifiers start

Jane Ludlow's squad face Northern Ireland at Rodney Parade

Wales' women look to maintain their winning start to Euro 2021 qualifying tonight.

They face Northern Ireland at Rodney Parade.

Jane Ludlow's side started the campaign in spectacular style with a 6-0 win over the Faroe Islands, and while Northern Ireland suffered defeat against Norway by the same scoreline, the manager suggested the result was more about the quality of the opposition rather than the performance of Tuesday's opponents.

"We're really pleased to get three points and our recovery has gone really well," Ludlow explained, before confirming that all of her squad were fit and available for selection.

"It was pleasing to go ahead so early on and control the game. Northern Ireland didn't have the result they wanted in their first game, but they will look at us differently to how they looked at Norway.

"For us, it's nice to play at home. We love playing here, the pitch is really good and the environment suits us. It will be a tough game, and we're expecting a different challenge to the Faroe Islands. If people follow the women's game they will know that Norway are a very good team. Our game plan will be very different to that against the Faroe Islands."

Kick off is at 7:05 pm this evening.
