Met Office issues yellow weather warnings

Exposed areas could see gusts of up to 70 mph

Some areas across south west Wales could see gale force winds today as Storm Diana hits the UK.

The met office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind from 9:00am on Wednesday 28th November until midnight.

Forecasters say more exposed areas could experience gust of up to 70mph.

A second warning for heavy rain will also be in place from midday today.

Forecasters say there is likely to be travel disruption and possible flooding in some areas.

Pembrokeshire council said is is considering closing the A477 Cleddau Bridge to lorries due to Storm Diana.

The Met Office said communities could experience local short term loss of power and other services is possible and it is likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and large waves

Forecasters are urging people to plan ahead and to take care on the roads in the wet conditions.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue service attended a number of collisions on the M4 in south Wales on Tuesday 27th November due to heavy rain and poor driving conditions.

The Met Office advice centre said, "if it is time for your wipers, it’s time to slow down."
