Welsh Artist Pays Tribute To Enduring Forces' Sweetheart

Dame Vera Lynn has been captured in Dan Llywelyn Hall's latest work to mark VE Day 75.

The artist has unveiled a portrait of Dame Vera and donated it to her children's charity which provides an early intervention service for children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.

Dan is a big supporter of our veterans and has donated two of his paintings to the charity Care after Combat. In March, a portrait of Nigel Farage, titled 'Mr Brexit' was auctioned.

Llywelyn Hall has also gifted a painting of the Queen to the charity which was originally commissioned by the WRU. It hangs at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. It is presently up for auction on Care after Combat's website.

Care After Combat is still supporting veterans during the pandemic with volunteers and staff continuing to work through these difficult times.

Its Chief Executive Officer Amanda Deakin has paid tribute to her team and told us how the charity relies on the kindness of donors. LISTEN to interview here:
