Welsh Trade Heads To New York

A Welsh Government led trade mission will see Welsh goods and services being showcased in New York this week.

Boutique bridal dresses, cashmere socks, recycling machinery and a contemporary circus are just some of the goods and services being showcased in New York this week as part of a Welsh Government led trade mission.
Six Welsh companies from a range of sectors are taking part in the mission, which runs from 20-26 March.

Areas represented include consumer goods, professional services and advanced materials and manufacturing.
As well as being able to promote their products and services on the international stage and explore export avenues, delegates will be given the unique opportunity to connect with sector experts, foster strategic partnerships and learn more about doing business in the USA.
In addition to the six companies participating, Welsh circus NoFit State is also in town performing at New York's St Ann Warehouse.

Thanks to a Welsh Government sponsorship deal announced last December, NoFit State was able to accept an invitation by St. Ann's to stage the US premier of its show BIANCO.
Economy, Science and Transport Minister, Edwina Hart said, "The United States is by far Wales' largest export market and is worth over £2.7billion to the Welsh Economy.
"As the world's premier economic power-house, engaging with businesses there is essential for Wales and this trade mission aims to do just that.
"As a pro-business Government we recognise the importance of international trade and our overseas missions are tailored to help businesses make the most of all the opportunities presented."

This trade mission is the last one in a series of 27 overseas events and exhibitions the Welsh Government scheduled as part of its current international trade programme 2015/16.
As well as providing on-hand support and advice during the visit, the Welsh Government has arranged a series of meetings so delegates can speak with like minded companies and investors with a view to stimulating business growth and export opportunities.

This includes a special business reception in New York which is being hosted by the British Consulate General.

The six companies taking part in the Trade Mission are:

-    Recycle Direct Ltd
-    Cotech Sensitising Ltd
-    Corgi Hosiery Ltd
-    Vicky Rowe
-    Mari Thomas Jewellery
-    Coup Media
