The Challenge

Dozens of people have signed up for the South Wales Evening Post Pedal from Paris to Swansea bike ride and now Badger has been challenged to join in the fun!

August 22nd 5 teams of cyclists will arrive in Paris ready to take to 2 wheels and ride home to Swansea.

It's all about raising £90,000 for Maggies Cancer Care Centre in Singleton Hospital Swansea.

'I've joined up with Team Jen' says Badge 'I went for a training ride with Rob, Jen's dad and her story was heartbreaking. Rob said that when you're in a position where you have nowhere to turn when you get that horrendous news that you or one of your family have Cancer then Maggies has an open door, open arms and listening ear with an amazing enthusiasm to help and provide a place for comfort and peace'.

The team was formed in early 2012 by Rob Richards who will ride with family and friends to help raise funds for Maggie's Cancer Centre at Swansea in memory of his daughter Jenny Richards who very sadly passed away at only 23 years of age due to a rare form of the disease.

Jen was an AMAZING person, with so much positive attitude, fun and love for others.

Even in the last few weeks of her life it was more important to her to put smiles on other peoples faces rather than her own.

Rob says 'Lets help put smiles on other peoples faces who are going through really tough times, that's what Jen would have wanted. Maggies centres are there to help when we get the terrifying news that we or a member of our family has been struck with this horrible disease. Cancer affects 1 in 3 people in the World today and Maggies centres provide the ultimate stop gap for information both financially and emotionally when we as family and of course sufferers need it most'.
