Three Russian sailors have been found by lifeboat crews stranded on an island in the middle of the Bristol Channel.
A major search and rescue operation had been launched after the sailors went missing after a night drinking in Barry. The crew took a Rib from the ship to the party town of Barry but when they hadn't returned earlier this morning the alarm was raised.
They were found an hour later on Flat Holm island in the Bristol Channel.
Lifeboats from Minehead and Barry were launched just after 7am this morning to assist in the search. As the search continued two lifeboats from Penarth along with Ilfracombe also launched to assist at around 8am. All five lifeboats carried out detailed searches along their coastlines.
The sailors were found safe but very cold on Flat Holm Island at around 8:30am by Penarth RNLI volunteers.
It's thought the sailors got lost while returning to their ship in the middle of the channel due to the thick fog.
